ALPE is an independent, member-driven organization intended to be a platform for law and political economy work and community building. It is dedicated to the production of scholarly knowledge by academics, researchers, organizers, practitioners, and others committed to centering issues of political economy in the study of law, and welcomes membership from those sharing this focus. 

ALPE is a membership-based and member-led organization. While our annual conference is open to non-members, participation in many other ALPE efforts is limited to members in good standing. For example, only ALPE members can start official working groups or chapters, apply for administrative and financial support for local ALPE initiatives, vote in ALPE elections, and run for elected positions.
