Conference Registration and Membership

Thank you for your interest in the Association of Law and Political Economy (ALPE). Please use the link below to register for our first national conference in Richmond, VA on February 6-7, 2026, and sign up as an inaugural member of the association

Registration for the 2026 conference closes on November 15, 2025. Late registration will be available until December 6 and will incur a late fee of $50. (There will be no cancellation fee before December 6th, 2025. If your plans change, cancellations made after December 6, 2025 and before January 6, 2026 will be eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made on or after January 6, 2026 are non-refundable. Unfortunately, a lot of the costs of running a conference are baked in, so we need certainty as we make the final arrangements.)

We hope you will also join as an inaugural ALPE member! The link below will offer you discounted membership dues along with conference registration. ALPE is an independent, member-driven organization intended to be a platform for LPE work and community building. It is dedicated to the production of scholarly knowledge by academics, researchers, organizers, practitioners, and others committed to centering issues of political economy in the study of law, and welcomes membership from those sharing this focus.

We will adopt our bylaws at the national conference, and elect our first board and officers soon after, probably in April/May. (The ALPE planning committee is constituting an interim board to serve until the first election.) Members will be the backbone of ALPE, and we hope the organization will serve as a hub for your activities. You will also be eligible to vote and run for board and officer positions. We are building the organization stepwise, so the activities of the organization and membership benefits (for example, sections, workshops, or reading groups) will be developed by the first board, and you all. Join us!
